AT YUKI’S KITCHEN

This Daikon & Tofu Ganmodoki recipe is inspired by Shojin Ryori, a type of food served in Japanese temples. Together we’ll make these delicious vegetarian patties to top a bowl of soba noodles. Temple food is very subtle in flavour, it is not meant to be too rich. Miso and cassava flour amplify flavour and add texture to the patties.

Tofu Ganmodoki with daikon sauce & soba noodles - Cookalong

Welcome to Grow with Yakult at Yuki’s Kitchen, we are thrilled to be running these unique Cookalongs based around five, delicious Japanese vegetables or salad leaves.

Daikon, often called Mooli, is renowned for its distinctive large white root. It has a clean aroma too, alongside a distinct peppery flavour. It is commonly associated with Japanese cookery and here it will be our focus for this last in the series of five cookalongs.

In this recipe, we will start by making the sauce and stock. Then we’ll make the Ganmodoki patties, cook the noodles and then bring the dish together for serving.
