AT YUKI’S KITCHEN

Have you cooked with Mibuna? It is a leafy, Asian green and lesser known cousin to Mizuna. Mibuna has a wonderful mild mustardy flavour. Its long slender, rounded leaves can be lightly cooked, or used raw in salads. We’ll use it to create a Gome-Ae side and a Teri-Goma Chicken main, that I’m sure you’ll love!

Goma-AE MIBUNA & TERi-GOMA CHICKEN RICE BOWL - Cookalong

Welcome to Grow with Yakult at Yuki’s Kitchen, we are thrilled to be running these unique Cookalongs based around five, delicious Japanese vegetables or salad leaves.

Leafy, beautiful Mibuna will be the focus of this third Cookalong session. Mibuna has a light mustardy flavour with rounded edge leaves delicate like baby spinach. You can blanch Mibuna and use the leaves as a topping for ramen noodles. They can also be stir fried and served with ginger and a light dressing.

In this recipe, we’ll start by making simple, perfect Japanese plain rice to accompany the main dish. Then we’ll make the Goma-ae Mibuna, followed by the Teri-Goma Chicken.
