Homemade Miso & Suiton Dumpling Soup
Price £30 • Duration 1.5 hours • Location Online via Zoom
About this Class
Miso brings an Umami flavour to dishes, giving many Japanese recipes their distinctive flavour. Unlocking the power of Miso will allow you to experiment at home with different strengths and varieties that you can introduce to your cookery. From pantry to palate, this class will teach you the ingredients to use, how to make miso from scratch, the basics of the fermentation process and a wider understanding of this delicious ingredient. There are many benefits of Miso, resulting from the fermentation process, for your health too. Understanding its use will provide a foundation for your Japanese cookery skills.
By the end of the class, you will have made approx. 2 kgs of miso paste that you can store, ready for use in 6 months to 1 year. The homemade miso is gentler and more subtle than store bought versions. We’ll finish the class by making a delicious, filling miso based soup.
There'll be time for Q&A's along the way and plenty of tips. Upon booking, you'll receive a link to the Zoom meeting and a Class Guide (PDF) that will contain your shopping list, tips and the recipes for you to refer to and scribble notes on during the class.
